BA’s 26 Posts Blogging Challenge
Welcome to BA’s 26 Posts Posting Challenge for Book Bloggers! The aim of this challenge is to create one post a week, focusing on books, book blogs, and a scattering of personal topics, for 26 weeks. You can learn more, or be kept up to date with topics here.
Posts will go up every Sunday, but you can post any time during the week (all topics are pre-listed), and share your posts in the comments for others to find. Please refrain from targeting individuals, bullying, or slandering in your posts. Share your opinions, but keep it diplomatic if anything negative comes up so this can be, and stay, a fun challenge.
This Week’s Topic
Obsessions, Obsessions: We all do it; get carried away by something new or revisit something we once loved. What have you been obsessed about lately?
I completely forgot about this question! I think I was aiming to make it more of a personal, other than book, themed, but feel free to make it as bookish as you want if you haven’t written your post up yet. I’m going to do both myself.
Personally I’ve been obsessed with the backyard. Well, backyard might be too generous a word. I live in a villa, which has a courtyard, but the space isn’t large. There’s some grass, but I wouldn’t classify it as a lawn. I’m not doing a very good job of explaining the back area am I?
Ok, lets start again. The back area has a courtyard/patio thing running lengthwise as you come out of one of the two glass sliding doors. There’s enough room there to include two two-seater table and chair sets, a barbecue, Winston’s hutch and pen, and that’s it really. A garden bed runs along the fence opposite the sliding doors with poisonous trees (they really are poisonous, one has berries and the other has horrible flowers. Pretty, but bad for you) and a few plants.
The courtyard mainly consists of flagstones, then there’s an area jutting out past the villa and running down the side. The ground in this area is a mix of sheeting, clay pebbles, sporadic grass shoots, and weeds. Not kidding. The side of the house has grass and a tree, but none of us go down there. It’s kind of like an urban jungle.
I spend a lot of time out in the back, especially now that I’ve let Winston out there. I’m attempting to bunny proof as much as possible and am now cleaning up the garden beds in hopes I’ll be able to grow something. Namely veggies to feed the bun (buns are expensive). I’m very focused on acquiring a saw at the moment and pruning the hell out of those trees.
It’s not very bookish at all. Actually, come to think of it, my bookish obsessions aren’t really existent at the moment unless you count the one I’m editing (the one I wrote the majority of in the backyard). I’m more focused on editing my novel than anything else. I want to cut as many filler words as possible. Go away filler words!
Don’t forget to share your post if you take part, grab the badge, and tell your friends. The more the merrier!
