This Week’s Topic

Loving Blogging: What do you love about book blogging and book blogs?

What do I love about blogging and book blogs? So much. When I first started it was a great way for me to be able to connect with others. Being housebound and limited in my physical abilities way back then; blogging gave me both a window to the outside world and a way to express myself when I couldn’t speak to anyone. I was able to connect, educate, learn, focus on something else besides pain, and create project after project to while away the days.

This was all before I began blogging about books. I wasn’t able to read for about two years, my brains were too messed up, but when I was able to begin again oh my, was it wonderful! Having the idea of putting blogging and books together, the former being a newfound addiction (at one point the count reached eleven blogs) and the latter being a long-time love, just seemed to fit so nicely together.

I’m probably a little jaded these days with not being as excited about blogging, but I do love being able to create memes, challenges, banners and badges, change layouts and themes, and posting templates. I love how blogging can allow you to be creative, imaginative, and productive. I love how blogging can inspire you, others, and other blogs can be an inspiration for yourself.

What I really love though is how you get to see just how much people love books, blogging, and how large and diverse the reading community is. I’ve learnt so much and been able to be less isolated in my reading since I began book blogging and following other book blogs.

Don’t forget to share your post if you take part, grab the badge, and tell your friends. The more the merrier!

    • Good to hear you were able to catch up. I don’t know how anyone can have the patience with helping people with their taxes. That would do my head in. Kudos to you.

  1. I agree that blogging is a great way to meet others who love to read. I started blogging because of book challenges and enjoy winning things. I am over a week behind in reading the blogs I follow and in posting a book review. But, taxes are due in the U.S. on the 15th and my husband was in the hospital for five days and he prepares other peoples taxes. So I had to do a lot of printing and submit the e-files while he was away.

    • Really, as I mentioned in my other reply to you, I just don’t know how anyone organises anyone’s taxes. I guess you must have to love numbers or have a good head for them. I love numbers, but taxes in Australia confuse me too much. Luckily I’m exempt from them for the moment.

I hope your husband is ok too and whatever landed him in hospital wasn’t too serious. Hopefully he’s recovering speedily. Hospital is never fun, even when a stay is less than a week. Urgh.
