If you could rewrite the ending of any book, which book would it be? And how would you change it?
A part of me says, ‘oh so many to choose from!’ but the romantic sentimentalist in me says, ‘but it wouldn’t be the same story anymore.’ Lets go with the former shall we? Or else I won’t have a fun answer. At least I don’t think I will.
The Castle by Kafka would be one because then it would not only have an ending, but it would be resolved. No one would go through all those pages of torture without closure! Yeah I really am not a fan of that book.
There’s plenty of other ones I’d change the ending of, but they’re more so because I didn’t like the ending and something else would suit me. That doesn’t mean that the ending was wrong though. The ending we read is part of the story and it wouldn’t be the story we are presented with without it (there I go).
- Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer because I felt it was anti-climatic for such a climax building story.
- Blood Promise by Richelle Mead (possible spoiler) because I want the main character to just move on already and no I haven’t read the next one yet. It’s on my shelf.
- Satan Burger by Carlton Mellick III (once again spoiler alert), but only because I want to see what is through the walm.
I think that might be enough before I start giving reasons not to change them. What would you change? If you take part let me know!
