Aussie Author Challenge: Done and Dusted!

I’m quite happy with myself at the moment. I have completed the Aussie Author Challenge, hosted by Booklover Book Reviews, which is the first challenge I have participated in online (well as a blogging one hosted by an individual and not a group).

The challenge ran from the 1st of January through to the 31st of December 2010 (there’s still time to join in if you want to) and the challenge levels are the following;

  1. TOURIST – Read and review 3 books by 3 different Australian authors
  2. FAIR DINKUM – Read and review 8 books by Australian authors (a minimum of 5 different Australian authors)

Because I’m hopeless with keeping up with challenges these days or a reading plan as I’m a reader by feel, I decided to take part in the Tourist challenge because I figured 3 books were reasonable.

They are;

  1. Slights by Kaaron Warren
  2. Tomorrow, When The War Began by John Marsden
  3. Chasers by James Phelan

All of which are excellent books and I am considering doing it again because there are a lot of Aussie Authors out there who should be read and quite a few I would love to read still. I’m not sure yet if I will as I have so many reading challenges as it is, but I know the challenge is being hosted again next year. If you’re interested in checking it out click on the banner and it will take you right to the sign up page.

Did you take part in the challenge?

    • Cheers and thanks for hosting it too. I’m glad it’s done so well and that you’re hosting it again next year. It’s a good challenge and there probably isn’t enough people out there reading as much Aussie fiction as they should be.

  1. Congrats on finishing the challenge! *highfive*

    I put down for Fair Dinkum, but forgot to keep track LOL I have been writing books down in a note pad, so I’ll go back and do the sums later. I am sure I have read more than 8, but have no idea exactly how many aussie books I have read though. I’ve read 4 Kylie Chan, 2 John Marsden (not the TWTWB series), 2 Melina Marchetta etc, but I haven’t written any reviews yet. I need to get cracking LOL I will have to read them all again! I want to read some serious fiction though, so I my read some Randolph Stow or something. It is already nearly October :-/

    • Thanks! 🙂

      I’m looking forward to seeing what you have read and how much. I’m always looking forward to seeing how much you’ve read. It’s like a sight to be seen you know?

      It’s a shame reviews are part of the participation rules. What if you don’t have time or just don’t feel enough (or too much in some cases) to be able to review? Oh well it’s still a good way to participate anyway.

      I know it’s gone too fast 😦 But my comic challenge starts in October! Yayness! Comics!
