Fun Fridays: A-Z

I nicked this one from Jacq at BookBites

For this meme, you list a favourite book that starts with each letter of the alphabet. If you don’t have a book for a letter (such as Z or X) than you can substitute a favourite book that simply has that letter in the title (e.g. The Lost City of Z or Hot Six by Janet Evanovich). However, you can only do this a maximum of 3 times. (Z, X, and Q. But not Z, X, Q, and V.) Books can be of any genre from fiction to non-fiction to poetry to textbooks.

This is a difficult task to fulfil, because obviously some letters, like S and T, have many books that might be favourites, whereas others, like Q and X are unlikely to present you with difficulties making a choice. I have chosen Fiction:

A: A Clockwork Orange – Anthony Burgess
B: Brave New World – Aldous Huxley
C: Contagious – Scott Sigler
D: Dracula – Bram Stoker
E: Exorcist, The – William Peter Blatty
F: Feast of All Saints, The – Anne Rice
G: Gone – Michael Grant
H: Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – J.K. Rowling
I: I Am Legend – Richard Matheson
J: Jesus Weed – Gerard Taylor
K: Kallocain – Karin Boye
L: Life of Pi – Yann Martel
M: Mists of Avalon, The – Marion Zimmer Bradley
N: Nineteen Eighty Four – George Orwell
O: Odd Thomas – Dean Koontz
P: Painted Man, The – Peter V. Brett
Q: Queen of The Damned, The – Anne Rice
R: Road, The – Cormac McCarthy
S: Slights – Kaaron Warren
T: Time Traveler’s Wife, The – Audrey Niffenegger
U: Unmentionable – Paul Jennings
V: V For Vendetta – Alan Moore
W: The Name of The (W)ind – Patrick Rothfuss
X: Battlea(x)e – Sarah Douglass
Y: Cr(y) To Heaven – Anne Rice
Z: The Hori(z)ontal Instrument – Christopher Wilkins
