BA’s 2014 Off the Shelf Reading Challenge

Off the Shelf 2014About: The Off the Shelf Reading Challenge is probably the most popular challenge there is on BA. The goal? To read books on your shelves that have gone unread for far too long. Selecting books from the year before (in this case, 2012 and before), read as many of the unread ones as you can. It’s up to you if you want to keep them or give them away afterwards, the main goal is to turn those unread books into read ones.

The Finer Deets

  • The Main Rule: Do not include books acquired during 2014, it defeats the purpose, read those books from before 2014 started.
  • Running dates for all 2014 challenges: 1st of January – 31st of December 2014
  • Sign-Ups are accepted until the 16th of December 2014.
  • Formats: All BA Challenges are eBook, audio, short story, and graphic novel friendly.
  • Crossovers: You’re welcome to crossover with BA’s challenges. Include as many books across all the challenges as you can, I always say.

    • Level Tempted and Trying: Choose one country
    • Level Making a Dint and On A Roll: Choose two countries
    • Level Flying Off to end of Hoarder: Choose three countries
    • Level Buried: Choose four countries.
  • Gender Battle: Read books only by female or male authors. Another alternative is to read equal amounts of both.

  1. Welcome back Bonnie! Happy new 2014! Thank you for making me #2! Most importantly, it is spelled just right (here): CAROLYN LOL! I say “Carolynrhymes with ‘gin’; not ‘wine’. That is easier to remember. E-mail sometime about your trip! For everybody: I’m hostess myself of 3 challenges February 1, through February next year! I’d love to have you all for word games, mystery, or “Ethereal”. Xoxoxo

P.S. Your new banner is BEAUTIFUL. I’d love a larger copy.

    • Thank you Carolyn! You’re very welcome :) I made sure I copied and pasted so I wouldn’t get any spelling mistakes. I’m very particular about it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have trusted myself. I’m so glad you’re on board with the challenge again Carolyn and yours sounds interesting. I’m going to keep an eye on it to get a better idea of it.

I googled bright fractal backgrounds! I’m always using free wallpapers, I find it easier, the blue one is one of the first to come up.

      • Awesome Bonnie! My trio doesn’t launch until Feb 1 anyway. Which caught your eye? I could see folks waiting to see which titles they have for “Gentle Spectrums”. The other is ANY mystery (or ABOUT a mystery author). Ethereal is anything mystical; extra-sensory abilities, spirits… if it’s real, it’s in. Only vampires / zombies / werewolves are checked at the door. ;)

  2. Just started this challenge and added my link! (At least I hope it went through). My level is Making a Dint, so I hope that I can meet that goal! Thanks for this wonderful challenge. Also just started following you!
